I was born in a family of scientists, and growing up in a diverse community in India elevated my creative interests in Art, Languages, Classical Music and Dance. As a Watercolor Artist, I draw inspiration from quaint countryside landscapes, flowers and birds, be it from places I travel to or just my backyard. My style is often realistic, and sometimes impressionistic. Watercolors became my choice of medium because of the sheer versatility of water resulting in an array of shades, movement, textures and hues, that bring to life my idea of natural beauty and a level of serenity in a painting. I started to develop my own techniques over a period and enjoyed experimenting with greens. I love using a variety of bold and subtle colors alike, and must have a shade of green in ALL my pieces! I actively participate in fine art events throughout the East Bay year-round. For me, painting is therapeutic and the result organic.
Come and meet Meghana Mitragotri watch as demonstrates her craft and see what pieces of art of hers you can’t live without!
