It is once again time for downtown Pleasanton and Weekend on Main, come dine and stroll the main street free of cars and stop by Studio Seven Arts and meet Craig Kurotori a local artist who creates bonsai sculptures with wire and glass.
Craig moved to this awesome, family-oriented town of Pleasanton over 25 years ago. His love and appreciation of nature's beauty may have begun working for "Mitsu," a Japanese gardener, on weekends and during the summer months. Inspiration also comes from Craig's mother, Rose, who was an Ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) practitioner. Craig would help his mother set up her flower exhibits many years ago. After his mother's passing, he had the idea to use some of her vases to make individual living bonsai gifts for all of the grandchildren. In time, they all came back dead. This led Craig to create his metal and glass bonsai and Ikebana sculptures.
