Latest Spirit Tiles by Houston Llew

Houston Llews latest Spirtiles are:

Secret Garden #261 by author Joseph Campbell “Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where once there were only walls”.

Flourish #274 by author Marcel Proust “Let us be grateful to those who make us happy…they are the gardeners who make our souls blossom”.

From the Heart by author Anne Admirer “I couldn’t decide on balloons or flowers, so I got you both!”.

Mushroom #276 by author Lewis Carroll “I knew who I was when I got up this morning, but I’ve changed a few times since then”.

Each Spiritile is made by hand using copper and finely ground glass called “frit” by layering colorful glass frit onto a copper canvas using stencils, sifters and playing cards: the image and story start to come to light. Fired in a kiln and colled under a planchet, the flat is then rolled with a pin to create “crazing”. These natural cracks increase the light refraction and magnify the luminescence of the glass. Each fired flat is then molded around a solid frame to create a Spiritile. Wrapping the story, author and Houston’s signature around the sides.
